No thanks--I'll stick with Firefox. At #2, it has the popularity to attract well-crafted extensions. It's not perfect--not even Safari or Opera can make that claim--but it's damn good. I'm not sure why we have the Firefox hate all of a sudden.

Firefox 2 is well, not that good, I'll give you that. But Firefox 3, from what we are able to see from the betas, will be the fastest most reliable browser out there, second only (maybe) to safari in web standard compliance and with the most awesome USP out there: totally customizable. It's also a lot lighter, and, even though it's not as light as, say, Opera, it's lighter than most and all memory leaks are off.
I'm sorry, but Firefox rules.
I use Safari for general browsing, email and media viewing and Opera for torrent downloading and online shopping. Fx and IE both suck.
Seriously, though, you guys are all wrong about tabbed browsing. The first browser to use tabbed browsing was BookLinks' InternetWorks in 1994.

I dont understand why in the hell you would try to gun down firefox. You can say its shit if you like, but dont be an asshole. If you think its SOOOO horrable why dont you download the source code and make it better? You call firefox bloated when microsoft pushes IE up everyones ass. IE is a joke for god sake. its spotty security record shows that. You can hate firefox, but dont start an organization about it...

Opera is probably the best browser out there. FF have good extensions and all that, but opera have those as well now, so there's no reason not to go opera? =)(Although FF has a bigger "extension community") Opera is faster, safer, follows the w3c-standards better, has built-in IRC-client, fast torent-client, etc.
Opera did NOT invent tabs, i believe that the avant browser did long ago, but it was porbably really slow at the time, so it weren't that popular.
Bloated software? Explain exactly what you mean by that, the installer is only 7 megabytes for the newest version. This site has absolutely zero relevance. Hating something for the sake of hating is never a good idea.
Despite of its shaky start, the latest version of Google Chrome works better than FF for me. FF frequently stalls for seconds while I am using it. Its annoying.

Today, we know that FF3 was the biggest piece of shit ever created, the problems became larger and persistent. Today history repeats itself with FF4, they swear that "will be the wonder that solve all the problems, we must be given another chance". Well, that story already before I have seen and I lived. You can give to FF another chance if they wish, and maybe now comply, but already I gave the oportunity in 5 years and no longer I will give more.
There are better options.
Firefox is the worst browser ever ivented. Firefox has allways been shit. I've always hated the bloody thing. Just look at the way it renders pages, it has a realy strange feel to it and it's full of bugs. And people think its great. Firefox is horrible.
yep, firefox sucks. and when you want to tell them that their browser sucks, you know what happens? they tell you to download the latest version. and you know what happens when you do? they tell you "sorry we're closed". that's what happened to me right now. well, 1 minute later it's uninstalled and i'll have the pleasure of giving opera and chrome a try.

I just want to know one thing. Why does the only people who seem to defend FireFox are screaming fanboys?
If a person makes a well thought out post even using many examples from previous FireFoxes which were great the fanboys still scream if the author makes ONE negative statement like it's life and death.

Only the freetards and linuxtards still use this piece of shit. Mozilla fucked it up after Version 3. Even Microsoft has finally disowned Mozilla with the newer versions of IE and even their free e-mail client is better than thunderturd, not to mention they simply abandoned their calendar project (sunbird) to work on other shit no one wants or cares about (Firefox OS? LOL, even Windows Phone can disown that, let alone iOS or Android).
Had Microsoft got a handle on IE in version 7 instead of 9, and Linux not adopted this as their personal idol browser, then no one would even know about these trolls and their one-hit wonder.
Opera has always been better, and now that they took the hint that webkit is the best engine there is (Apple caught on quicker than most, because Safari was made in their heyday), Firefox are the only retards still using that gecko crap and even Microsoft improved their own engine as I said.
Like Linux, and people who continue to use Windows XP, Firefox proves how many people take pride in being stone-agers.
Have fun! The rest of us will use real browsers like Chrome and Opera.
Firefox support is so typical of shitty technical support (I worked in TS for ten years and we had a few losers who didn't last long). Some sample solutions from the "Firefox must close" crap - from my memory (since the box closed):
1.) Upgrade to the latest version - right, and spend a day fighting with plugins and extensions (before you start bitching, I only have a few and no, I'm not going to list them)
2.) Disable themes - ok, I'll use my power to look into the future and see when a theme is going to cause a crash
3.) Use fewer tabs - I had FIVE on my last crash, plus weren't tabs supposed to be a feature that benefited the user? Why not disable tabs altogether and just give us one screen? I could run multiple instances and it would be more stable
4.) Find out what is consuming memory - how??? You don't dump any kind of diagnostic output, so how do I figure out what crap is chewing up memory?
5.) Buy more memory - I'm not even going to comment on this. Why not a faster CPU also? More disk space?
You forgot a few of standard dodges - things like:
A Reinstall Windows/Linux, etc
B Let me look into this and I'll get back to you
C Upgrade your JRE, etc.
D Send useless KBase's (like Windows KBase for Unix, etc) and close call
E Tell customer you're escalating the issue
F Tell customer to run diagnostics
Face it - your support and even your product itself sucks donkey balls. I'm running version 53.0.2 (32-bit) and I'll be damned if I install every upgrade. Why don't you focus on making a STABLE version and fielding that? Every time I upgrade, I get some new crap (like that stupid second tab which has helpful links and how I need to download a plugin to work around a feature that was shoved down my throat just because you guys like it?) How about writing a crash file that has things like websites on each tab (ooohh - tabs!), URLs, screen content (like typed responses), list of what was running at death, etc. No, just puke and die. Wonderful - Opera, here I come...
